Facebook attribute transparency tool Research Study

To participate in the study follow these steps:

  1. Log-in to Facebook on a Google Chrome browser.
  2. Install our Chrome browser extension from here: Chrome Web Store.
  3. Open your Facebook home page afresh after installing the extension. In roughly a minute, you will see a pop-up asking you to like a page. If you do not see the pop-up, click on the logo of the extension () in the top right corner of your browser window. A pop-up will open; click on the button that says "Take me to page". Please "like" the Facebook page that opens.
  4. In roughly another minute, you will see a pop-up with a confirmation code on your Facebook home page. Copy this confirmation code. Again, if this does not display, please click on the logo of the extension as before; a pop-up will open. The confirmation code will be populated here roughly a minute after liking the page. Copy this confirmation code.
  5. Provide your Prolific ID and our extension's confirmation code in the fields below and press Next. You will then have completed the task and be redirected to Prolific.

Note: In case you are not able to get the confirmation code even after 10 minutes, please keep the extension installed and email us via Prolific. We will work with you to resolve the issue.
